Here is a list of our regularly brewed cask ales. These are normally available in 9 gallon casks. We can also supply 18 gallon casks by arrangement although some notice may be required. At Great Heck we also supply a wide range of ales form other quality brewers, ideal for rotating guest beers or beer festival orders. Powermouse Powermouse 3.6% Very pale, hoppy session ale with delicate bitterness and loads of fruity hop flavour and aromas from a unique blend of eight varieties of European and American hops, added in generous proportions late in the brewing process. A delicious, refreshing low ABV ale, perfect for a session!
DAVE DAVE 3.8% Champion Beer of the Festival Wakefield CAMRA 2008 Dark, silky smooth session bitter brewed with copious quantities of finest English chocolate and crystal malts whose richness is balanced to perfection by the subtle bitterness and hints of berries from the addition of whole English hop flowers. Come to the bar and meet your new best mate, Dave.
Navigator Navigator 3.9% Traditional mahogany coloured session bitter with subtle yet exotic hop aromas.
Blonde Blonde 4.3% Winner Yorkshire’s Finest Taste Award 2008 Brewed with the finest British Maris Otter malted barley and a touch of wheat malt for a rich, golden, satisfying ale hopped with a blend of English and Slovenian hops for a zesty finish. One of our original beers and a perennial favourite!
Citra Citra 4.5% Winner MTT Yorkshire Beer Awards Pale Ales 2013 A light, golden ale showcasing the extremely popular Citra hop variety from America. Very refreshing and satisfying, packed with resinous and fruity flavours, this is something exciting and different for your bar. Join the craft beer revolution!
Treasure IPA Treasure IPA 4.8% Gold SIBA North East Premium Bitters 2013 This golden IPA has low to moderate bitterness and very distinctive tropical fruit notes from the premium American hops used in its production. Smooth, hoppy goodness.
FIVE FIVE 5.0% Winner Strong Bitters Sheffield CAMRA 2011 IPA with a blend of 8 hop varieties from Germany, Poland, the US and New Zealand.
Treason Stout Treason Stout 5.4% Unfined complex flavoured wheat stout.
Shankar IPA Shankar IPA 5.9% NEW Autumn 2013: Pale IPA with good bitterness using lots of American Columbus, Chinook, Cascade and Citra for flavour and aroma and dry hopped during fermentation with Columbus, Willamette and Cascade. A bold, hoppy beer you’d expect from Great Heck!
Yakima IPA Yakima IPA 7.4% Champion Strong beer CAMRA Huddersfield 2012; SIBA North silver medal 2012 in Premium Strong Beers category. Strong IPA with a blend of US hops – Citra, Simcoe, Cascade, Chinook and Amarillo. Strong West Coast USA influence, low bitterness, tons of fruity flavours and aromas balance a solid malt backbone. Dangerously drinkable.
Speciality Cask Ales
Voodoo Mild Voodoo Mild 4.3% Very dark mild brewed with addition of chocolate and black malt. In keeping with the beer style, hops don't feature in the flavour profile of this beer as much as with other Great Heck beers but it's no shrinking violet. Beautiful chocolatey, roasty flavours dominate this classic dark mild.
Amish Mash Amish Mash 4.7% Winner Speciality Beers LocALE Competition at York CAMRA Beer Festival 2013 Cloudy, hoppy weizen with Apollo, Bravo and Galena hops. This is a genuine German style Weizen with the hops of an American IPA. Light, refreshing and extemely fruity as the hops balance the banana and clove notes from the german yeast. This beer is naturally cloudy because it is unfined and thus suitable for vegans.
Black Jesus Black Jesus 6.5% Winner: Selby Beer Festival 2013 Black as the coal mined from beneath the brewery Black Jesus is a black IPA brewed with biblical quantities of premium American hops and special dehusked German roasted malt. A second coming for the church of the IPA. Enjoy with Chocolate, cold meats or just loaves and fishes.

Departures Departures 4.5% Refreshing pale ale with low to moderate bitterness and tons of fruity hop flavours and aromas. A departure from normal Great Heck beers using first wort hopping and hop steeping. A great beer to welcome the New Year with.
Yule Twig Yule Twig 5.2% Rich bronze collaboration brew with Steel City Brewery from Sheffield. Our first beer to feature first wort hopping and hop steeping. Highly hopped including specially imported “craft” Simcoe twigs from the US.
American Classic American Classic 5.5% Rich mahogany colour, smooth, richly fruity and balanced. Brewed with a blend of US hops – Cascade, Chinook, Cluster, Columbus and Willamette.
Porter Porter 4.5% Tradditional dark porter made with English Maris Otter malt and lightly hopped with whole English hops. Deliciously smooth and satisfying and a great alternative to mass produced keg stouts.
